Dec 08, 2016 Annex Update

So I have not posted any updates for some time
due to the fact that most everything was being done inside
where I couldn't get any pictures of it.
Well it has now been turned over to us for the
custodial even though there are several things still
being completed.

Today we had to put down carpet squares and
put up some round tables to show how they will work and
get approvals for the way it is done.

So while I was getting pictures for us to use later
in setting up for dinners I decided to take a
few more of the offices and other areas.
There are two curtains that can be lowered to divide the
area into three parts.
This is the setup for the smaller areas.

And this for the larger center area.

Our north storage area is already too small.

This is the taping area complete with a shower
that is in full view of the court.

There is also a cryo tank for freezing
you to a very low temp, apparently
works wonders for a body.
The rest of the taping room.

Main west hallway from the Marriott Center

The stairwell is a makeshift sauna.
Doors at the top trap all of the heat
and it is probably 10 or more degrees hotter at the top.

Food preparation area.

Out south storage area complete with a lot of items
still being used for construction.

This is the view of two of the
coaches offices from the floor.

The dream of any training coach is the
heavily loaded training room.

This is one of the conference rooms.

And this is one of two theaters that will have a
95 inch ($17K) tv.
 on this wall

Women's team office hallway

Assistant's office cubicles

One of the coach's offices
  more of the assistant's area

Another conference room

View of the floor from the second level
banister, that runs along the outside of the offices
from the women's to the men's side.

A view of the lobby upstairs level.
I will post more pictures of that area later,
it will be the hall of fame area with all of the
basketball awards.

More first snow, at home

The first snow at home caught my eye due to the
contrast 0f colors in the rocks and wood.
Very beautiful.

Winter is here

I am not fond of my camera on my phone
but when that is all I have I will use it.
Images taken from my work after the first
significant snow fall this year.

Mount Timpanogos is really pretty with the first sunlight
splashing on it in the morning.

The light was beautiful but this camera on my phone
just didn't cut it, but by the time I got to my car
in the parking lot and retrieved my SLR
it was gone.

Just some misc images from this summer

I was just going through some images from this
year and decided to post a few.

This little rattle snake was so young that it didn't have
and rattles but his tail still vibrated rapidly
and it was very aggressive.

Question answered by supermoon

The supermoon gave me a perfect opportunity to
answer a question that I have had for sometime
now and never bothered to answer.
I will give the question and answer after
this first image of the supermoon.

A little shot of the moon a bit too high of
an exposure and adjusted in bridge.
I kind of liked the neon effect.

OK the question:
Does the moon look the same at night as it does in the morning
when it is on the other side of the sky?

When I asked this question of others I got three responses.

1. Of course not.

2. Of course it does.

and number

3. I don't know, that is a good question.

Well it really should be an obvious answer as it has changed
from one angle to another as it crosses the sky, but
I decided I had to prove it.

So on my way to work at 5:30 AM on November 14, 2016
I stopped my car and took a few pictures.
I way underexposed them so that I could see the features better.

Western Sky : 5:30 AM  11/14/2016

Then that evening I took another image at around 7 PM
when it was in the Eastern sky as it came up over
the mountain East of my home.

Eastern Sky : 7:00 PM  11/14/2016

I got the answer I expected as you can see in these images
that the angle does indeed make a difference.

These were both taken from the raw image in my camera and
exposure slightly adjusted to make them the
same illumination.

Now I have another question that I will need to answer next spring.
What does it look like during the different seasons?
