I have had the opportunity to loose sleep
several times as I have stayed up to watch
a lunar eclipse.
I will never get tired from it though since
it always is such an amazing thing to be able to go from
seeing everything so well with the full moon light
to seeing practically nothing in the absence of the light.
According to the web the eclipse was supposed to start at 2 am
on the 21st of January, but while driving home
from a family party I could see the eclipse was starting
around 8 pm on the 20th.
We got home and I got out my camera and took
many pictures through the eclipse which ended for me
around 12:30 am on the 21st.
This is when it was just starting.
Later I photographed it when it was pretty much
at a complete eclipse. We had enough of the angle
that it showed the effect of the red moon.
Then after it had moved into the latter end
of the eclipse the light was back to white.
The clouds were also staring to move in for the
storm predicted the following day so the
eclipse was starting to be blocked out.
This was the last image I took as it was nearly
completed.
What a fun experience.
