The morning we had planned to enter
Mesa Verde National Park
it had snowed in the park the night before
and we were told that it was closed.
So we went back to Cortez for a few hours
until it would open.
On the way back we stopped at two places near town.
This one was a wooden flume that had
carried water for irrigation
and parts of the flume are still there having survived a flood
that had done extensive damage to it.
The wooden fence still had some of the ice
on it and the water had given it a
beautiful color.
