Some bird time

Recently we were looking at some old home movies and the children were laughing because I would apparently get bored with what they were doing and turn the camera to things around me and tape them instead. The common things that I taped were the birds. So what can I say, I do enjoy watching birds and here are some images from today. You have to look close to see the shy one I photographed first.

Spring is here.

I love the first blossoms of spring that always come on y Apricot trees. I was a little surprised though to see a butterfly already. There was a bumblebee also that was very protective of the turf. He chased me away even when I was about 10 feet from the tree using a 300 mm lens. Very strange but I obeyed after he came real close and kept getting closer.

A walk around the field

The birds were singing and the sun was setting. A perfect time to go for a walk.

A Beautiful Easter Morning

What a surprise to awaken on Easter Sabbath and find 5 new inches of snow. It was so beautiful that I had to take a walk with my camera and enjoy the wonders of spring, well maybe winter still at this point.

A night of babysitting

The other night I had an opportunity to babysit my granddaughter. I decided to take some pictures of her while I was there since I always love to take her picture. So we had a little photo session. First she wanted to know why I wanted to take her picture. So I told her because I love to have pictures of her. I love to look at them when I can't be with her. She was watching a special show on the TV that her mom had set up for her before they left and even though she was watching the show she was also posing for the camera.
We finished the show and she wanted to dance. So I took pictures of her dancing. She was having a lot of fun.

I took a picture of her shoes and so she quickly told me to stop until she could put them on for a picture. Then she continued to dance with her hand puppets.
Finally she did some posing and we took a few more pictures.

The best part of the whole event however was that after every photo she would say "Can I look at it?" and then we would go back to taking the next picture. We had fun. Grandma and I love to babysit this sweet beautiful little girl. We love her very much.

A flag that has withstood the almost constant wind

This flag has now flown day and night for several months. It has been nearly always standing out from the pole like this because of the wind that always blows in that area. This flag is soon due to be mended or retired. The dark clouds behind it remind me of the dark days of the history of this country through which the United States flag has flown so faithfully carrying a promise of a better day if we do our part in preserving our rights and freedoms bought by the faithful men and women who have fought for this country under the watch of this flag.
