I Love Clouds

They seem to be the same for several minutes but a closer look shows that they are constantly changing. If you want to have some fun on a lazy afternoon, when the clouds seem to be around the most, then take an empty card and put it in your camera, then set the camera on a tripod and take an exposure every 10 second. Clouds really do change extremely fast. Here are some I recently took on a trip back from Duchesne. I love the last image the best.

Always be looking for an opportunity to make an image.

This was just a fun image I captured while attending a wedding reception. As I said in my last post I like to keep my eyes open to everything about me and now I am looking for an appropriate image to add to this.

On the way back from an Engagement Session

One of the things that I love to do is to take pictures while taking pictures. Kind of like a National Geographic photographer, always looking for the next shot despite what the assignment may have been. I took these while doing engagement pictures at a place called Big Springs. It was also near Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon.

Fourth is the most Fun

OK so I just entered images showing the third commencement exercises that I have attended this year and now here is the fourth and not to be bragging or anything it was by far the best and the most fun. This little preschool graduation was a program consisting of the children acting out nursery rhymes and singing songs for each and then doing a modern rendition of the same rhyme.
Jack and Jill

Jack Be Nimble

Little Boy Blue

Little Boy Blue Counting His Sheep

Little Miss Muffet running away from the spider

Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater switched to candy and ruined his teeth

Things can get a bit mixed up

Those hats are hard to keep on at any age

It is sometimes sad to move on to kindergarten

The program was followed by the presenting of diplomas and pictures with their favorite teacher, all the same teacher of course. It was a fun program and far easier to attend than the regular ole talks by people usually trying to impress classmate and colleagues. Their talks are all good just not as fun as this was.

(I am not putting pictures of all the class just some random ones from during and after the ceremony.)

A Fantastic Aunt made this

Our Granddaughter wanted a kitty cake and so this is the cake her Aunt made for her. It is really Cute and even made the ride from Utah to Colorado without too much damage. The bottom around the cake came off in a couple of places but was easily reinserted.

Third Graduation Ceremony 2009

Well I have officially attended my third graduation ceremony for 2009 and this one is in Colorado. 800 students graduating and held outside with the threat of rain (thankfully it didn't) and I was lucky enough to sit in the front row next to where they walked out of the arena. (Mom and dad knew where he was going to be walking out so the lucky part was only in the fact that the row in front of me cleared out just before they walked out so that I was able to jump the seats and get into the front row. This is my nephew, the son of my wife's brother. It was fun even though it was very crowded, but what can you expect with 800 graduates. I included two of his friends in this blog as well.

A quick family picture before we left.

After the long Absence

So it has been too long since I last added to my blog. I have been working late nights trying to get a bunch of pictures done for a dance studio and have not been able to shoot any of my own but that is how life goes sometimes. So anyway today I decided to take a few for a blog tonight and it all started with an old saying with proof "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence". This is what it takes to get to it.
This young magpie couldn't fly back into the tree (until I forced it down to where there were some lower bushes) but the thing that amazed me was the ability it had to turn it's head 180 degrees. Wow my neck hurt right after that one.
Then there was the little bumblebee busy gathering nectar from the lilacs. It wasn't until just a few years ago that I realized a Bumblebee makes honey just like it's cousin only the nest is made of grass and the honey is stored in pod shaped devices inside of the nest. It was really quite a neat discovery for me.
After the animals, birds and insects I turned my attention to the flowers and weeds in the light of a setting sun.
