BYU's new Basketball Practice Facility

It has begun.
The building of the new practice facility for BYU
on the East side of the Marriott Center.

Demolition had started while I was still out after surgery
but I am now able to get almost daily pictures of the progress.

(Don't expect daily updates however.)

A sort walk during the day.

Recently while recovering from thyroid surgery
I had time on my hands and instructions
to get out and walk each day.

So one day I took my phone with me since I was
restricted by a weight limit of ten pounds and my
camera is far heavier than that.

I saw a beautiful hawk.

Fall leaves with a touch of snow adorning them.

Beautiful grass bushes highlighted
 by the afternoon sun.

And my favorite mountain.

God created so many very wonderful things for us to
experience each day.

Provo LDS Temple

I love the fall time of the year. As I was walking up to the
Provo Temple I loved the colors not only on the
temple grounds but the mountains behind as well.

This was the scene coming out of the temple
as the sun was setting.

Power Down

I was walking back from the pavilion
when I heard a fairly distinctive explosion.
It was snowing lightly and had been all day.
I looked toward the sound and saw a power pole falling over.
It had been burning in the middle of the pole and finally gave way.

We were without power for about 8 hours and learned some good things from it.
My generator refused to start.
The flashlights that we have hung by the door
in each room were in need of a little fresher batteries.
They gave off light but not much so we replaced the batteries.
We had no second source of heat which wouldn't have been
too much of a problem had there not been a baby in the house.
Other than that things were pretty well set.

More trail camera images

I enjoy this camera and how it can be where I cannot.
But I am wondering if I should be concerned
with the fact that I am getting images of raccoons
almost as often as mule deer.
This is a popular entry / exit spot for the deer.

And apparently the raccoons like
the same entry / exit spot. I love
how the doe is watching them.

Of course the horses are an added benefit and I don't
mind them at all.
Except this spot is hopefully not an
entrance / exit spot for them.

Well I guess I can't complain since there is
yet to be a skunk in the images.

Trail Cam Tracking

So I just borrowed a trail cam and on the second night after it was installed
I got several hits through the night.

Here are some of them.
I knew we had raccoons around here now after finding one with
kits in the top of my shed.
She only had three however and it looks like
there are at least 4 maybe 5 with this coon.

The deer must like this little corner of the world.
It does just happen to be near where they jump the
fence from the field into the yard.

However they seem to be camping here as well.

Rock Canyon clouds

I love to see these types of scenes
where the clouds are just hanging
around the mountains.
