Winter Friends

We threw some older crackers out for the birds the other morning and I was glad to see that they came and were feeding on them. I then decided to get the camera out and shoot through the window so as to not scare them away by opening the door. They are so fun to watch and unlike some birds that I have photographed before they didn't seem to be fighting quite as bad today and thus they were all able to get some food.

This is called the Grotto waterfalls also in Payson Canyon. This was taken in kate summer when the water levels were low. In the early spring you cannot get to where I am photographing since the small cave like area s full of water.

Western Tanager in the Spring

This is a beautiful little bird. I had a large number of them decide to stop by for a few days one spring and feed on the old apples in my compost pit. It was fun trying to get close enough to them for some good pictures. Here is the sequence of one that was feeding while still keeping a close eye on me.
