My lunch hour joy.

What fun the last two days have been ass I have got to watch and then photograph the wildlife from the buildings 5th floor and the parking lot. Yesterday I went out and photographed the ducks and geese and missed an Eagle go after something above my head and a fox catch a goose on the other end of the field. (That actually happened while I was going down the five flights of stairs to go outside to photograph. Some of my fellow workers still at lunch saw the fox and the eagle. I was wondering though why all of the geese took off since when I walk over there they just walk away from me but this time they all flew up just honking their silly heads off as the circled and flew away right over the top of where I was at. It was pretty fun.Still wish I had seen the eagle though.




Then today I watched as three bucks were following the same doe around the woods. I photographed these from the lunchroom on the 5th floor and had a much better view than if I had tried to go outside. No eagles or foxes today however.

A great year to have over (in some ways.)

This has been a most interesting year with several firsts. One was buying a Passat that we rarely drove since we had many problems with it. It wouldn't start at various times until I finally located a loose wire. Then we drove it to Colorado, took it on the tour for the Silver Beaver photos and went to Idaho for the family reunion and drove it several times for the commute to South Jordan. But then when trying to go to Arizona it gave up and cost $600 dollars to get me back to Mapleton on a tow truck.It has basically sat since August when that happened. Then a couple of weeks ago one of the best cars that I have ever owned finally wore out and we had to replace it after also replacing the Passat. So this year I have purchased three cars and for the first time ever one of them was brand new with 14 miles on it as I drove it off the lot. It had about 33 by the time I got home.I guess I can't complain too badly since all three of them added together are still less than most new cars today.

So today I spent a good share of the day digging out the Passat so we can prepare to sell it. The old Camry is still at Max's Car repair with a full tank of gas since Marie filled it that morning before the water pump went out on it and the radiator is almost gone and it leaks two quarts of oil a week. I need to get it back and sell it as well. So following are three pictures of the process of digging out the Passat. Snow for Christmas removed by rain

Well we had 20 plus inches of snow followed by 15 or so hours of rain. So much for a white Christmas since al the snow is what has been pushed with the dirt that isn't frozen enough to not get moved with it. Oh well it is really pretty while it is lasting.

And how will I sell this car now before the snow is melted away?

Spanish Fork Festival of Lights

Every year now for several years there has been a festival of lights held within about 5 miles of our home in Spanish Fork. We went this year for our tour last monday and were delighted as always by the lights.
