A Huge crop or at least a HUGE potato

So we dug our four short rows of potatoes and got a shock when we dug two large potatoes from one mound, and then got about four more in the net couple of rows. I can only wish I knew what was different for those two rows. We ended up getting four half full bags from the four rows, they were only half full because they were too heavy when full.

We had a great range of sizes from the quarter inch size to the 5 to 6 inch size.

This will make it a little easier to tell how big it was and how small our littlest one was.

Beautiful fall leaves carpeting the ground.

I went camping this weekend with the sister in the Relief Society of the BYU 6th ward. The campsite they had picked was just beautiful so I took some pictures of it.

I love the view.

So even though I despise the commute I must admit I love the view from the 5th floor where my office is located. Here is an example from the other day when the geese were flying past, the sun was about ready to come over the mountain and the mist was lifting from the Jordan River.

Clouds are fun.

I am not sure why I like clouds so much bit I really do and maybe it is because they change even when they seem like they aren't. Maybe it is because they have the silver lining. I really do not know but I do know I love to photograph them. Then again maybe it is because it reminds me of lazy summer days looking up at them and seeing how many things you could imagine from the shapes of the clouds. I still regret the day though when I saw a perfect pirates ship in the clouds but had left my camera in the trunk of the car and couldn't pull over fast enough to get the camera before the shape had changed into something that was nothing like a ship.

What kind of spider is this?

Does anyone know what kind of spider this is? It spun a web between two of my tomato plants and it wasn't really in the road so I have left it and just watched it most of the summer. I have seen it catch and eat one huge grasshopper and the rest of the time it has sat in the middle of the web 99 % of the time. I have seen it moving once but it generally just stays in the same place. That at least made it easy to get some very close shots of it. Anyway I would love to know what it is.

One Fall shot

And there may be more coming. We happened to drive up Provo Canyon on the perfect day.

A new car again?

I very seldom buy a car and when I do i use the old adage of
Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do , or Do without.
That comes from the age of the depression years and doesn't work real well when it comes to cars and having to get to work. So I bought a VW Passat in Jan and will never make that mistake again. Especially after it broke down on the way to Arizona. Well the story after that sparked the offer to buy this car and I am real happy with it so far but still have to have a car to replace the old Camry that we literally have worn out.
