I really don't know why

I like these strange insects but I have always been drawn to them since the very first time I saw one in 1973, in Midland, Texas. It was on a fence and sitting up with it's claws close together. The other night as I came home I found one on my wall and just had to have it's photograph.

I LOVE praying mantises. Remember how Mom used to buy them for the yard? I was telling Caleb and Ashley about that the other night because they had one in their house. Caleb caught it for me so I could bring it home. I want more here! Trouble is, I needed a nice little pair rather than a single one. The photos are fabulous.

Think your love of these little critters came from Mom's love for them? I think they were one of her favorites, and I love them for that reason (besides how beneficial they are.) Maybe it's also because they remind us of "praying". Great shots!

If you get comment twice, it's because the first one didn't show up - Think our love of these little guys came from Mom's great love for them? She certainly instilled a love of God's creatures, great and small, in us. I still get excited when I see a praying mantis or even a lady bug "beetle".
