Progress to put up a parking lot

I have lived in this neighborhood now for 38 years and each time I turn toward my home I have seen this property and the old barn. I love the old wood but also realize that progress nearly always wipes out history of some form or another. I just had to photograph this one time before it is leveled to put in a parking lot. I don't know for sure that it will happen but it looks that way now.

These first four images were taken on an overcast day.

The rest of them on a sunny day.

Tracks under the snow

In our small city we have a law that all dogs are suppose to be kept
in fenced yards or on a leash at all times.
Well it is interesting to me that I would have these
tracks on my back porch when I do not even own a dog.
But it was interesting to scrape the snow and
see these tracks frozen in the ice under it.
I just had to photograph them they seemed to be so perfect that
I could almost make a plaster cast from them.

Rising Moon

Coming out from work I looked toward the mountain just in time to
see the moon peeking out from behind it.

An almost full moon.

I have wanted to take pictures each day as the moon goes
through it's monthly cycle buy the weather has not cooperated.
I did manage to get one before it was back to a full moon this month.

Tis the Season for Visitors

As I was leaving for work I noticed Quail out under my Colorado Blue Spruce trees.

And then on my way home 6 deer crossed the road
in front of me at the park near my home.
I turned on the bright light to catch these images
of the little 2x3 point buck that was with them.

A little welcome as I got up this morning.

Mt neighbors came to visit this morning.
However they were not interested in staying for their pictures to be taken.

December Crystals

I noticed, as I was shoveling snow, this beautiful ice crystal formation
on my garage window.

14th Ward Turkey Bowl Nov. 28,2013

I decided to photograph our ward turkey bowl.
There was a lot of participation and it was really fun.

From the "too old to play" to the
"learning while we are young"
there was a lot of fun plays and fantastic catches plus quite a few misses.

I think the call would be HOLDING.

The leader of the bowl.

Some knew better than to play.

Sacrificing all.

A few close-ups of the bystanders and players.

After getting some early Thanksgiving food
they did some practice passing and catching.

Back to preparations for the visitors.
