Gotta Love a New Snow Storm

I love going out in the morning after a fresh snow storm, not to shovel the snow, but to take pictures of how it is hanging on things in my yard.

For instance: These two pictures (above and below this sentence) shows how the snow has started to droop in the middle while hanging onto the outside of the monkey bars of our swing set. I would love to see one of my grandchildren try to cross them with that snow hanging there.

Then the rings were really quite fun. The weather was cold enough to keep the snow from melting too fast but it was still melting.

The apples that we did not get picked (got tired after several boxes full) and the leaves made for some different types of images as well.

I don't understand why the city doesn't take down the shade netting from the ball diamond stands in the park near our home. Eventually the snow this winter will pull them totally to the cement if it does what it has done for the last three years now.

This little horse chestnut tree has a shell still hanging on after the nut had fallen out. It reminded me of a Venus Fly Trap.

More Birds

Again I had my camera with me as I walked past a park in Arizona. I was just going to photograph the ducks and other birds and then was surprised to see an osprey with a fish. That was well worth being by the park.

Birds

I love to watch birds and to photograph them as well. It is not always easy as many birds are a bit shy about staying put when a large thing gets pointed at them or a person seems to be trying to get closer and closer to them. But it is fun and they are so beautiful.

I have even tried to imagine at time what it must feel like to live in a tree in a small nest especially when a wind storm comes up. If I were to like roller coaster rides I suppose it wouldn't be so bad but I don't.

And then to be able to hang onto one of those small round wires stretched across the land and not fall off. I guess this wire happens to be about the rght size for this morning dove's feet but not all birds would fit that well.

I have a covey of quail that live near our yard in the fields and it was fund to watch them as well. At one point there were 14 of them all in one little group running and flying around the yard.

With the sun just right it is easy to see the brilliant colors that some of the birds display.
They are so pretty.
