031923-Sparrow-Hawk

We got home from church and had a visitor
on the front lawn having lunch.
It didn't seemed to concerned with us being there.

It stayed for over an hour in the same spot.
(Notice the sunlight added to the spot.)

Then a little while later it flew up into the tree
and stayed there for a couple more hours.

I love it after new snow storms
when the skies clear and we can see
the white trees at the top of the
mountain

031923-Flooding continues

So the city has still not cleaned the drains
but the water from the basements
still continue to flow
some a little
some a lot

Spring is pretty close even with
snow predicted again this week
local farmers have had fields flooding as well
and cutting drains through to the
street where there use to be a ditch
until some city planners decided
there was no need for any

Looks like the need still exists in wet years

031623-Spring-Run-off-starts while the lawn still has snow

The snow is melting
and basements are filling up
and then being pumped out
so the ditches fill up.
Our neighbor even had to dig
a ditch through his lawn
so it wouldn't become a lake
in his front yard .

Like the lake in his field

across the street was the source of all the water
coming from homes further south.

But the worst part of it is that our city employee
just rides around in his truck and won't stop to
clean out the drains.

My surface well that usually sits at about 7 feet
below ground level, except when we irrigate,
is now at three feet or less below ground level.

And the snow on my lawn has hardly melted
except under the trees where there wasn't a lot anyway.

And it hasn't even started.
