Looking Forward, but not too fast.

So I'm having a little bit of fun with your mind. I happened on to these images this morning and decided to post them while I could still go outside and enjoy the hot car as I rode home. It is often interesting to me how we are always wishing it was cool when it's suppose to be hot and warm when it's suppose to be cold. But I often think that if we could accept the seasons when the are there and look for the beauty in each that we might not have to wish our lives away all of the time. The summer flowers can only grow when it is hot outside but the beautiful frost after a cold foggy night can only come when it is cold. Each has their own beauty and each can be enjoyed in the season that they are intended to grace.

There is some blurring that I had added to these images but it wasn't done in photoshop. It was done with vaseline jelly on a haze filter on the lens thus the uneven effect of the blur. Now I do it in photoshop but still understand the fun of doing it on the camera. It was always a bit messy and so I dedicated only one filter to that process so that I could keep the others clean.

Variation Experimentation

I decided some time ago that the reason I like Photoshop so well is because I can play with many variations to the same image. I have been surprised many times with the outcome that I was able to come up with but had not planned for at the beginning. Some really worked well while others did not.

Here in these images I have the original image shown first and then I added a second layer with a mask which isloated the yellow flower and after doing that was able to use the same mask to vary the blur of the back ground and then to remove it completely.
