Capture My Utah

I was just told about a web site the other day called www.capturemyutah.com and decided to take a look at it. It is an interesting work and they are putting together a book of photos taken in Utah by the people of Utah (or someone photographing Utah). Anyway I did a quick search of my images and choose a few that might work and then uploaded about 6 of them. If you were to choose which 2 or 3 , if any, which ones would you have used. I am interested in your feedback because over the years of doing photography I have learned one thing, "I can't out guess anyones likes or dislikes since their likes and dislikes are almost always different from mine." So I have just continued to shoot everything that gets in my way so to speak and then leave it up to the viewer to like it or not. And as another photographer always says in his blog at the end, Enjoy!

Ok - so how are we supposed to choose? After one look I like the deer, this last one, the fall color scene. You need to number them so it's easier to say. I also like the old equipment/horseshoes ones too. It's really hard to pick. When you said "captureutah" I immediately thought scenery, but when I think about it more I can see why you put the old stuff in there.

I also like the duck and the moon.

It was hard to choose three, but I absolutely love #4 - the still-life of old tools. #7 is a lovely panorama of typical Utah scenery. #19 is stunning! I also loved #16, with the fall leaves and clouds, and the captivating moon shot - #17. (I numbered them according to the order they appeared in.) The duck and deer were great wildlife shots. Boy, that really narrowed it down, didn't it?

I agree with Leesa and Marsha that it's hard to choose just 2-3. I like them all. I really like #4, the way the light is on the old tools. Also #7, the clouds on the mountain are just cool. I love #14, the fence. #16, too. And the moon, #17. Of course, the last one is amazing, I love when the light shines through the clouds like that.

Okay, I'll give it a stab. I like them all, and agree with the others on their picks. My four favorites are #1, the well thingy; #6, the buck; #9, the horseshoes; and # 13, the headgate control wheel. Hope this helps.

Well I can;t remember which ones now that I submitted but all of you agree that about any of them could work. Thanks for the input because it is fun to see how people react to different images. I kind of guessed that Clair would like the horse shoes one and of course the buck. It still amazes me how that buck totally paid no attention to me that morning. (I didn't show the doe he was following so you can tell now why he didn't care that I was there.) I was actually about 25 to 30 yards from him and standing in the open on the road and this shot was the only time he really looked at me during the 10 minutes or so that I was there along with two other men from Provo Craft.

As usual, I waited too long to reply! I'd probably chose two you didn't show, as well as these - our old sled, and the one of ice cycles hanging from the Christmas lights. Those two stick in my mind! Lots of people probably did scenery shots, but they likely didn't get some of your other interesting ones. Let us know if any were chosen. Hope so!
