July 23, 2016 Mapleton's 24th of July Celebration Fireworks

The fireworks started out with a red sunset due to smoke
from the fire on antelope island.
But before we were finished we had created
an amazing cloud of smoke as well.

Last year there were about 4,500 fireworks
this year there were 10,000.
It was a very impressive show.

I shot many of the photos in a burst sequence
in my camera so I could see the changes as the
fireworks exploded and sent light in so many
directions. Some sequences are included.

This sequence of photos
almost looks like the  power lines were sparking.
(This is the one set where the lines didn't really
bother me too much by being there.)

This curtain of flame was amazing.

I was in the right spot to take pictures
from the south east side of the area,
since most of the smoke went toward the
crowd in the park to the north of the explosions.
They did come toward us during the last few minutes
of the show.
