Passing Through

A small herd of deer came through the
yard the other night.

After a little while they moved onto the west across the road.

From there they had a few fences to cross to continue on
through the evening to a place they probably frequent quite often.

They jumped the fence or at least part of them jumped the fence.

But four of them remained until
a car came and started honking it's horn.
Not good enough just to slow down and wait for them.
I guess we must live in a very busy world.

This scared them and they
could not go fast enough for the
car that was still honking the horn.

One of the little ones then tried to jump and
caught his leg between the wires.
I was afraid that I would have to go over to help it out.

but his leg came free and he continued on.

Another one crossed, I think the mom in the group
but that left two still on this side.
One had an injured back leg but finally moved
to where it was able to jump a lower section of fence.

That left this little fellow still having to deal with the
stupid driver that was still honking it's cars horn.
He tried to jump but fell backwards onto
it's back onto the ground.

I was afraid it might be hurt but it got up and by now the
person in the car had finally decided to go on past.
The little fellow didn't give up and it literally climbed
the other fence until it was able to cross over.

It left a small tuft of hide and hair on the fence however.
