A look back!

I have been looking through old scrapbooks that I made many years ago to help me with a project of writing my history of my childhood. It has been fun and so today's entry is some of the pictures that I took in my youth. One from 1966 and the rest in the following 3 or 4 years. We had a cat for a lot of years and this cat was her daughter. Old Smoky was the mother and this is Flame, the daughter.

We also had several dogs as I was growing up but the first few were all killed by the neighbors poison, that he put into fresh meat to kill the dogs on purpose, shortly after Dad had brought each one home. The dog that we had for many years was somehow smart enough not to eat the bad meat. However this picture, which was actually a double exposure, would make you think PeeWee was dead.

This is a picture of Flame as a kitten.

This is Pee Wee and her two pups. Pedro, and Sparky. PeeWee had only three legs due to being caught in a trap and chewing her leg off in order to be able to come home where we then took her to a vet and had her leg properly fixed. The loss of the leg didn't stop her and she would still climb haystacks and run as she had always, just a little slower was all.

Pedro in a picture I took of him later. I think Pedro actually turned out being a female rather than a male.

This picture was a favorite of mine because it showed the playfulness in the kitten that I had on the end of the string. I won an award with this image a few years later in a photo contest at Snow College.
